You could be like Sydney and I and camp in the snow, or book a room at the Motel 6. =)
There are a lot of nice places to stay or Airbnb's in Mammoth near the venue but they are pretty pricey and have limited availability.

I know, I know motels have a bad rap, but they sure are affordable =)
and if you are willing to brave the 45 minute drive (and possibly snow/bad weather) to Bishop, there are a lot of affordable places to stay.
